Let’s Talk Thyroid Symptoms:

Brain Fog+ Hashimoto’s

🧠 🌫 Do you have those days where you can’t remember a word mid-sentence, can’t focus or it takes you longer to ‘think’? Could be brain fog.

Whilst brain fog isn’t a technical medical term, it’s a pretty common way of describing those impacts on brain function. Like fatigue (& often going along with it), it’s a very common Hashimoto’s symptom.

I know we all can be forgetful but if this is happening more often and is impacting your functioning it’s worth exploring further.

I can’t remember (🤣) if this was a big problem for me early on but it is something that flares up for me from time to time.

Tips:

🦠 How is your gut health? The gut-brain connection is now well studied. If you have brain fog issues, look at your diet (esp gluten, sugar & dairy) and gut flora. When I’ve run 30 day challenges in the past and people cut these out strictly, a common improvement is in the ability to think clearly.

🩸Get your bloods checked through your doctor. Perhaps you’ll need some medication or adjustment in medication. 

🩺 Seeing a natural health practitioner to look at nutritional deficiencies might help (we will look at Vitamin D deficiencies later this month).

💦 Essential oils like rosemary and frankincense, vetiver, peppermint or blends like a focus blend are my go-to’s.

💊 Look for a good quality nutritional supplement, I like Lifelong Vitality.
