I’ve had trouble concentrating to write this! Shouldn’t perhaps be writing on a Friday afternoon ;-) Slowed thinking, thought processes, fatigue, lack of sleep, diet – all can factor into poor concentration. Again, it can be a sign that your thyroid hormones aren’t adequate. Any brain related symptom is really important to have properly investigated by your health practioner/s. I know personally having both Hashimoto’s and brain lesions just how connected the brain and the thyroid can be through inflammation and auto-immunity. I like my brain and I’d like it to stay healthy for as long as possible. Actually the brain lesions were the ‘final straw’ in really seeing my whole health approach needing to be a permanent lifestyle and not a piece-meal approach. The good news for me (& you) is that there are lots of things we can do to support our brain (& thyroid health). Let’s get practical: Many of the tips in the brain fog post will apply here too. 🩸Get your thyroid levels tested – it’s so important to know if this is an underlying cause. Linked to this is getting our medication levels right too. 💦 InTune (focus blend), rosemary, frankincense, patchouli are all helpful essential oils for enhancing focus & concentration. I just went and found my Intune, rolled it on my temples, neck of my neck, wrists and bang… here I am back on track. I also like a drop of Frankincense on the roof of my mouth. 🚰 Drink plenty of water – it’s easy for the brain to get dehydrated. 🍬 Reduce/remove sugar. 💊 Consider a good quality nutritional supplement. I like doTERRA’s Lifelong Vitality. ⬇️ Take an overall approach of reducing inflammation – diet, lifestyle… make it all about this at core. ☀️ Make sure you’re getting enough Vitamin D.
