Annabel Bateman is a Hashimoto’s patient and passionate thyroid health advocate. She has learnt in 25+ years of living with Hashimoto’s that the key is developing a lifestyle that supports (and doesn’t stress) her thyroid health.
Drawing on skills learnt in previous careers as a lawyer, life coach, family law mediator and author, she seeks to empower, educate and encourage women with thyroid conditions to develop their own lifestyle approach to their health so they can thrive and not just survive.
Annabel is the author of self published and best selling cookbook, What Annabel Cooks: Real food that will make you flourish. She hosts a successful podcast, Let’s Talk Thyroid which seeks to spread thyroid awareness and information and is active on social media to spread positive & practical thyroid related information.

Annabel lives in Brisbane, Australia with her husband and 3 teenage sons.

WHY I CAN HELP
Why trust me? That’s the real question isn’t it?
The bottom line is I have lived this Hashimoto’s journey for over 25 years. Not only that, I walk my talk. I do my best to lead by example. I have been able to put my Hashimoto’s into remission. Not quickly … it’s only happened after a solid 10 years of working actively and proactively on my thyroid health, but I have done it.
Thyroid health is one of those areas where qualifications don’t always mean a lot. One of the biggest frustrations most thyroid patients have is that their doctors don’t know or understand much about thyroid management. Most don’t even understand the importance of testing for autoimmunity (Hashimoto’s/Graves) because they don’t believe there is anything that can be done about it. (No medication to prescribe).
I’ve come to learn that in many ways I know a lot more than the average general practitioner about managing thyroid conditions – particularly Hashimoto’s & Hypothyroidism. I have invested far more hours into my thyroid education. I do NOT treat or diagnose, I’m not qualified to do that, but if you want practical experience of living WELL with Hashimoto’s I can help. What’s worked for me might not work for you exactly, but there are patterns and typical things that we all have to work through. These are the things I can help you with and is the core of my book, Let’s Talk Thyroid: Positive & Practical Thyroid Help.
In terms of education & training here is some of what I’ve done that equips me to support people with thyroid conditions from an educational and coaching perspective. On top of these things I talk to top thyroid experts around the world on a regular basis for my podcast, learn from them and pass on my learnings.
Qualifications & Education
Bachelor of Law (& Bachelor of Arts)
My law degree and working as a lawyer taught me to:

I was an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner and a Nationally Accredited Mediator. This taught me:
