Let’s talk about sex baby!

Except that when you have an under performing thyroid, it’s the last thing you want to talk about, let alone do.

Whether it’s a combination of poor sleep, depression, low energy, weight gain and not being happy in your own skin, or because your hormones are all messed up, it’s common to not ‘feel like it’. Whilst women are more likely to have underactive thyroid issues, men can too and their libido can also be affected.

In general your hormone levels impact your sex drive  – think pregnancy, menopause and even different stages of your monthly cycle. I know my (lack of) desire for sex is a definite sign that my thyroid function is out of whack.

What can you do?

🩸Get your thyroid levels tested – it’s so important to know if this is an underlying cause. Linked to this is getting our medication levels right too.

🌀 Address other symptoms that are impacting your sex-drive – acknowledging that this can take time.

🔵 Remember that Hashimoto’s is complex and takes time to dig into the root causes and requires a lifestyle approach.

⭐️ Work on your self-esteem – try affirmations, changing your thinking, be kind to yourself.

🥤 Add a little Maca to your smoothie.
